Knowledge Economy and Socialism—Science and Society in Cuba” by Augustin Davila.  The author looks at Cuba’s leading role in medicine, vaccines and organic food. 

 

Capital, Vol. 1” - A new translation by Paul Reitter. Authoritative, with commentary and annotations by Paul North.  An essential book to get you started on understanding capitalist economics.
